  9. EnvAddress is a Windows program written in Visual Basic for the following
  10. tasks:
  11.  
  12. Professional Address Manager
  13. Envelope printer
  14. Phone dialler
  15.  
  16. Requirements:
  17.  
  18. Windows 3.0 or higher running in standard or enhanced mode. Visual Basic
  19. programs do not run in real mode.
  20.  
  21. Some of the highlights are:
  22.  
  23. - Grouping of addresses - groups can be shown or hidden
  24. - Free format for the address, no fixed length fields
  25. - Up to 15,000 characters of remarks for each address - can be modified in a
  26. scrollable edit window
  27. - Envelope printing with a single mouse click - 5 envelope sizes can be
  28. predefined
  29. - Setup for printer, fonts and font sizes (screen, printer and envelopes)
  30. - Printout of a single address and of address lists - many selection criteria's
  31. - Fast address locating even in large databases
  32. - Find a text string in any fields of the addresses (also remarks field)
  33. - Phone dialling with a single mouse click
  34. - Installation program
  35. - Support by author through CompuServe, mail or phone (provided you like to
  36. call Switzerland)

  38. The package is delivered on two disks/files:
  39.  
  40. 1.    The program package (Addres17.zip)
  41. 2.    VBRUN100.DLL, the Visual Basic runtime library (AdrVBR.zip)
  42.  
  43. Installation:
  44.  
  45. 1.    Copy VBRUN100.DLL from the second disk to your Windows directory
  46.  
  47. 2.    Copy ADDRES17.ZIP from the first disk to a temporary empty directory
  48. on your hard disk
  49.  
  50. 3.    Unzip ADDRES17.ZIP. This will uncompress the files and will expand them
  51. to about 500K
  52.  
  53. 4.    Delete ADDRES17.ZIP and ADRVBR.ZIP from your hard disk
  54.  
  55. 5.    Run INSTLADR.EXE. This is a Windows program and has to be started
  56. within Windows through the Run statement or through the File Manager. It will
  57. not run from a DOS prompt.
  58.  
  59. 6.    Delete the remaining files from your temporary directory
  60.  
  61. 7.    Install EnvAddress as an icon in your preferred group with File - New -
  62. Browse
  63.  
  64. Start EnvAddress. A database will automatically be created and my Address and
  65. phone number will be inserted. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any
  66. problems or if you have suggestions for improvements.

  68. Adjust your preferences in the two defaults forms and the page setup. Also look
  69. into the help file, it contains a lot of information and tips.

  76. If you like to install Address Manager manually, follow these steps:
  77.  
  78. Move the following file to your Windows directory 
  79. if it is not already there:
  80.  
  81. VBRUN100.DLL       Library for all Visual Basic programs
  82.  
  83. Move the following files to your Windows\System directory 
  84. if they are not already there:
  85.  
  86. VBCOMM.VBX         DLL for dialing phone numbers
  87. CMDIALOG.VBX       Printer and Fonts setup
  88. COMMDLG.DLL        Printer and Fonts setup
  89.  
  90. Move the following files to a directory of your choice, e.g. c:\Address:

  92. ADDRESS.EXE        EnvAddress program
  93. ADDRESS.HLP        Help file for EnvAddress
  94. INSTLADR.EXE       Installation program
  95. READADDR.ME        Installation notes
  96. LOADVBRN.EXE       Make VBRun100.dll resident in memory
